The Open Search Server team is pleased to announce the release of the first stable build of Open Search Server (OSS) version 1.1.

Open Search Server is an open source, modern search engine and comes with a suite of high-powered full text search algorithms.

This release includes the following major enhancements:

- Synonyms support

- Spellcheck support

- Web crawler and file crawler

- Support for additional languages: Romanian, Turkish, Danish, Russian and individual Chinese characters

- OpenDocument Format support

- Management of several indices within a single instance
